It achieved a price of USD 27,720.00 (€ 25,108.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).

Die Arbeit Transformation A-D von Josef Albers wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 25.108,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josef Albers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Homage to the Square im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.954.000,00 (€ 2.772.667,54).
