The work Unitled by Karel Appel was sold in the Modern Art + Design auction at Bukowski in Stockholm in May this year. It achieved a price of SEK 185,000.00 (€ 15,940.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 32%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Unitled von Karel Appel wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern Art + Design bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von SEK 185.000,00 (€ 15.940,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 32%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karel Appel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
