Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Karel Appel could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Art + Design auction, this work without title changed hands for SEK 165,000.00 (€ 14,217.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 250,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Karel Appel konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Art + Design wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für SEK 165.000,00 (€ 14.217,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 250.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karel Appel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
