In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work GIRL by Kaws. The »bidding war« ended at USD 187,500.00 (€ 170,160.63), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit GIRL von Kaws zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 170.160,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
