Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work A Black Star Press Distribution: Aquafresh plus Crest with Tartar Protection by Kelley Walker for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,139.86). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kelley Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Star Press in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 572,750.00 (€ 652,107.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Black Star Press Distribution: Aquafresh plus Crest with Tartar Protection von Kelley Walker für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.139,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kelley Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Star Press im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 572.750,00 (€ 652.107,49).
