Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Christies in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Blob by Kenny Scharf. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,545.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenny Scharf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City of the Future in May last year with an auction result of USD 983,175.00 (€ 916,200.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blob von Kenny Scharf zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.545,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenny Scharf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City of the Future im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 983.175,00 (€ 916.200,73).
