Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Plat de pommes by Louis Valtat. The price achieved of USD 50,400 (€ 46,967) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 40,000 - 60,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Valtat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madame Valtat et son fils in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 726,650.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plat de pommes von Louis Valtat zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400 (€ 46.967) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000 – 60.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Valtat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madame Valtat et son fils im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 726.650.
