Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included this untitled work by Mark Rothko. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,095,250.00 (€ 44,932,505.16). Other works by Mark Rothko have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86) in May 2015 for the work No. 10.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Rothko zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.095.250,00 (€ 44.932.505,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Mark Rothko haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.925.000,00 (€ 74.517.918,86) im Mai 2015 für die Arbeit No. 10 beobachtet.
