Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maximilien Luce could be acquired at Christies in London in June last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction, the work Paris, la Seine, Notre-Dame au loin changed hands for GBP 38,000.00 (€ 44,145.19) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maximilien Luce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baigneuses à Saint-Tropez in May last year with an auction result of USD 4,527,000.00 (€ 4,218,618.95).
