Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study for "Cheerleaders" by Norman Rockwell was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 180,000 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 201,600 (€ 187,867). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Rockwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saying Grace in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 46,085,000 (€ 33,445,823).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study for "Cheerleaders" von Norman Rockwell wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 180.000 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 201.600 (€ 187.867) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Rockwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saying Grace im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.085.000 (€ 33.445.823).
