Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Briey Interior - Unité d'habitation by Peter Doig. The price achieved of GBP 56,700.00 (€ 65,989.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Doig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swamped in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 39,862,500.00 (€ 35,317,179.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Briey Interior - Unité d'habitation von Peter Doig zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 56.700,00 (€ 65.989,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 45.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Doig erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swamped im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.862.500,00 (€ 35.317.179,06).
