Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled, Ping Pong Player by Peter Doig was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in March 2018. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 212,500.00 (€ 241,942.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Doig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swamped in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 39,862,500.00 (€ 35,317,179.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled, Ping Pong Player von Peter Doig wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 212.500,00 (€ 241.942,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Doig erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swamped im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.862.500,00 (€ 35.317.179,06).
