In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I, which included the work Deux corbeilles de fruits by Pierre Bonnard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,660,000.00 (€ 6,451,612.90), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Bonnard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 19,570,000.00 (€ 17,553,143.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deux corbeilles de fruits von Pierre Bonnard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.660.000,00 (€ 6.451.612,90) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre Bonnard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 19.570.000,00 (€ 17.553.143,78) versteigert wurde.
