It achieved a price of USD 1,815,000.00 (€ 1,627,948.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Robert Smithson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alogon #3 sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of USD 4,297,000.00 (€ 2,761,568.12).
