In March this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work a.s.b. 01 by Thomas Ruff. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,940.00 (€ 31,787.15), 55% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Ruff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jpeg pt01 in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 197,000.00 (€ 230,864.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit a.s.b. 01 von Thomas Ruff zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.940,00 (€ 31.787,15) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Ruff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jpeg pt01 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 230.864,55).
