This artwork by Alexander Calder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2016. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Nebula sold for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 58,486.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Calder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poisson volant (Flying Fish) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 25,925,000.00 (€ 19,006,598.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Calder erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Nebula für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 58.486,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Calder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poisson volant (Flying Fish) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.925.000,00 (€ 19.006.598,24).
