Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Westfälische Landschaft (recto); Bäume (verso) by Christian Rohlfs. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,275.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Rohlfs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Haus in Soest“. in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 512,400.00.
