Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bukowski in Stockholm held the auction Contemporary Art & Design, which included the work "Gregory" by David Hockney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of SEK 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of SEK 44,000.00 (€ 3,726.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bukowski in Stockholm die Auktion Contemporary Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Gregory" von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von SEK 44.000,00 (€ 3.726,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
