In March 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Bear Witness | #SothebysBearWitness, which included the work Portraits by Gary Hume. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,107.44), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gary Hume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vicious in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 498,035.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im März 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Bear Witness | #SothebysBearWitness durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portraits von Gary Hume zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 31.107,44) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gary Hume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vicious im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 410.500,00 (€ 498.035,27).
