Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gerhard Richter could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Mirror Painting (Blood Red) changed hands for USD 1,314,500.00 (€ 1,035,528.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerhard Richter konnte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Mirror Painting (Blood Red) für USD 1.314.500,00 (€ 1.035.528,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerhard Richter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstraktes Bild im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.389.000,00 (€ 41.901.917,57).
