Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Grant Wood could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints and Multiples Online auction, the work Approaching Storm (Cole 19) changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,340.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Grant Wood konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples Online wechselte die Arbeit Approaching Storm (Cole 19) für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.340,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grant Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for "February" im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 760.471,30).
