Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cantanda by James Brooks was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,355.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Brooks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work M-51, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,592.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cantanda von James Brooks kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.355,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Brooks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit M-51 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 187.500,00 (€ 165.592,16) versteigert wurde.
