The work La luz que se apaga (Flor roja) by José María Sicilia was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in February 2012. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,250.00 (€ 51,641.65), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José María Sicilia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fleur Blanc, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 156,000.00 (€ 117,913.83).

Die Arbeit La luz que se apaga (Flor roja) von José María Sicilia wurde im Februar 2012 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 51.641,65) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von José María Sicilia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fleur Blanc beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 156.000,00 (€ 117.913,83) versteigert wurde.
