Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Missing Time Color Exercise #4 by Mike Kelley. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,744.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mike Kelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memory Ware Flat 1 in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 3,301,000.00 (€ 2,964,526.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Missing Time Color Exercise #4 von Mike Kelley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.744,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mike Kelley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memory Ware Flat 1 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.301.000,00 (€ 2.964.526,27).
