This artwork by Park Sookeun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2002. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Woman pounding grain sold for USD 449,500.00 (€ 455,005.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Park Sookeun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree and three figures, 1962, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 1,986,500.00 (€ 1,545,192.91).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Park Sookeun erzielte im September 2002 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Woman pounding grain für USD 449.500,00 (€ 455.005,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Park Sookeun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree and three figures, 1962 beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 1.986.500,00 (€ 1.545.192,91) versteigert wurde.
