Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Artschwager could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Graphic Century including French Impressions: Prints from Ambroise Vollard and Henri M. Petiet auction, the work Port changed hands for USD 378.00 (€ 366.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Artschwager achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior with Sideboard I in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,272,000.00 (€ 945,514.01).
