Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work 1965/1 - 8 Détail - Carte de voyage 1679590-1682025 26 by Roman Opalka. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 3,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 67,518.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roman Opalka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work OPALKA 1965/1 - ∞ Détail 185086 – 218302 in May 2021 with an auction result of EUR 1,222,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1965/1 - 8 Détail - Carte de voyage 1679590-1682025 26 von Roman Opalka zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 67.518,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roman Opalka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit OPALKA 1965/1 - ∞ Détail 185086 – 218302 im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.222.500,00.
