The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,515.25), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).

Die Arbeit Seascape II, from: Collection 65 von Roy Lichtenstein wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.515,25) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
