Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Untitled (Read between the lines) by Barbara Kruger. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,240.00 (€ 2,051.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Kruger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Your Manias Become Science) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,170,000.00 (€ 1,036,590.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Read between the lines) von Barbara Kruger zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.240,00 (€ 2.051,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Kruger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Your Manias Become Science) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.170.000,00 (€ 1.036.590,77).
