Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session), which included the work Gin by Charles Bell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 153,100.00 (€ 125,317.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Bell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Miami Beach in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 769,000.00 (€ 523,556.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Morning Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gin von Charles Bell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 125.317,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Bell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Miami Beach im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 769.000,00 (€ 523.556,64).
