The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,593.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cristofano Robetta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Allegorie auf die Macht der Liebe (Ein junger Mann, von Amor an einen Baum gebunden)., which sold at auction in September 2017 for CHF 4,750.00 (€ 4,150.47).
