Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Celia in an Armchair by David Hockney was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 23,940.00 (€ 21,684.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
