The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,083.75 (€ 998.11), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donald Sultan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Battery May 5, 1986 in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 76,896.04).

Die Arbeit Pomegranate from the suite Fruits and Flowers III von Donald Sultan wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.083,75 (€ 998,11) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donald Sultan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Battery May 5, 1986 im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 76.896,04).
