Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Attraction (Die Anziehung I) (Sch. 65; W. 75) by Edvard Munch for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,785.18). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
