Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madonna by Edvard Munch was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in October 2020. The price achieved of USD 375,000.00 (€ 321,971.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madonna von Edvard Munch wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 321.971,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edvard Munch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Scream im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 119.922.500,00 (€ 96.993.286,96).
