A top price for James Weeks - as previously expected
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Bay Excursion #2 by James Weeks. The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,704.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Bay Excursion #2 is the most expensive artwork by James Weeks that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bay Excursion #2 von James Weeks zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.704,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Bay Excursion #2 das teuerste Kunstwerk von James Weeks, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
