This artwork by James Weeks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2003. In the POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART (MORNING SESSION) auction, the work Gardens on a Hill sold for USD 20,315.00 (€ 16,936.22) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Weeks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bay Excursion #2, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,704.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Weeks erzielte im November 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART (MORNING SESSION) wurde die Arbeit Gardens on a Hill für USD 20.315,00 (€ 16.936,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Weeks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bay Excursion #2 beobachtet, die im November 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.704,15) versteigert wurde.
