Admittedly, works by Josef Albers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 504.500,00 (€ 424.020,84) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef Albers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Homage to the Square im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.954.000,00 (€ 2.772.667,54).
