Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in Brussels held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Cat 7, Circa 1979 by Karel Appel. The price achieved of EUR 384.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Brüssel die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cat 7, Circa 1979 von Karel Appel zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 384,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karel Appel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
