Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Soleil Couchant by Léon Pourtau was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in February 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 43,267.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Pourtau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paysannes Alimentant Le Feu in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 778,000.00 (€ 707,658.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Soleil Couchant von Léon Pourtau wurde im Februar 2013 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 43.267,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon Pourtau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paysannes Alimentant Le Feu im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 778.000,00 (€ 707.658,72).
