This artwork by Mario Merz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2017. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Untitled (Fibonacci) sold for USD 1,572,500.00 (€ 1,321,650.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mario Merz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Piccolo caimano sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mario Merz erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Fibonacci) für USD 1.572.500,00 (€ 1.321.650,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 700.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mario Merz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Piccolo caimano im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.346.297,09).
