The work Landscape by Markus Lüpertz was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It achieved a price of USD 47,880.00 (€ 40,773.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Admittedly, works by Markus Lüpertz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arrangement für eine Mütze I- dithyrambisch (Arrangement for a Cap I- dithyrambic) in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 300,000.00 (€ 333,124.41).

Die Arbeit Landscape von Markus Lüpertz wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 40.773,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Markus Lüpertz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arrangement für eine Mütze I- dithyrambisch (Arrangement for a Cap I- dithyrambic) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 300.000,00 (€ 333.124,41).
