Upper estimate price exceeded by 26%
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Arizona Landscape by Max Ernst. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,200 (€ 22,024), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November this year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000 (€ 21,355,532).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26% übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arizona Landscape von Max Ernst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.200 (€ 22.024) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000 (€ 21.355.532).
