Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait (Pink) by Michael Craig-Martin was sold in the First Open/LDN auction at Christies in London in September 2015. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,463.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Craig-Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work With Red Shoes in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 381,791.28).

Die Arbeit Portrait (Pink) von Michael Craig-Martin wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion First Open/LDN bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.463,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Craig-Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit With Red Shoes im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.000,00 (€ 381.791,28).
