Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work Exploding Cell by Peter Halley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,900.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Halley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellow Cell With Triple Conduit in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 513,000.00 (€ 584,078.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Exploding Cell von Peter Halley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.900,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Halley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yellow Cell With Triple Conduit im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 513.000,00 (€ 584.078,81).
