Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2019 Christies in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Modern Chess Set by Rachel Whiteread. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,283.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Modern Chess Set von Rachel Whiteread zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.283,81) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
