Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Nude by Richard Diebenkorn was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in February this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,852.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Diebenkorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recollections of a Visit to Leningrad in November this year with an auction result of USD 46,410,000.00 (€ 42,546,754.68).
