Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Tamalé, Ghana, Africa by Rineke Dijkstra. The price achieved of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,620.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rineke Dijkstra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hilton Head Island, S.C., USA, June 24, 1992 color coupler print 75 x 61½ in. (190 x 156 cm.) Executed in 1992. This work is unique in this size. Kolobrzeg, Poland, July 26, 1992 color coupler print 75 x 61½ in. (190 x 156 cm.) Executed in 1992. T in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 405,500.00 (€ 434,200.

Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Post War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tamalé, Ghana, Africa von Rineke Dijkstra zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.620,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rineke Dijkstra erzielen.
