Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Summertime by Robert Colescott. The price achieved of USD 226,800.00 (€ 195,905.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Colescott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington Carver Crossing The Delaware: Page From An American History Textbook in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,315,900.00 (€ 12,560,193.54).
