In February this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Rick, from Men in the Cities by Robert Longo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,146.01), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Longo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Leo) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,575,000.00 (€ 1,212,657.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rick, from Men in the Cities von Robert Longo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.146,01) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Longo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Leo) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.575.000,00 (€ 1.212.657,84).
